Care Leavers Day is celebrated on 18 May to raise awareness among all citizens about the situation and needs of care leavers, young people leaving care in foster homes or residential communities who, upon turning eighteen, often find themselves alone and disoriented, without a home, a job, or adequate social support.

In order to invite the young people of the Care Leavers Network to reflect on the topic, Agevolando, a Bologna-based association, is organising a number of events in different cities across the country.

The association invites all care leavers to log on to its social channels on 18 May for a surprise initiative.
