A new operational tool to support anyone caring for unaccompanied foreign minors and providing first-line reception services. Presa in Carico e Accoglienza dei Minori Stranieri Non Accompagnati (Care and Reception of Unaccompanied Foreign Minors) is the title of the guide drafted by the Ministry of the Interior with the support of the European Union Agency for Asylum and the collaboration of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies. It provides practical support to practitioners and professionals involved in the reception of unaccompanied foreign children and adolescents.
The publication, divided into 8 chapters, deals with rights and protections, the reception system, actors and functions, case management and initial reception procedures, transfer to the Reception and Integration SAI system, and the Dublin Procedure. The document is rounded out with in-depth sections on identification, age assessment, residence permits, the role of the guardian, reception funding, and legal references.
The guide is available on the website of the Ministry of the Interior.
