In recent years the phenomenon of bullying and cyberbullying has received increasing attention within the Italian legal system in the face of increasingly abusive behaviour (including through the internet) particularly directed towards adolescents and the widespread reporting of the often tragic results. Bullying is a multifaceted phenomenon and an expression of social malaise that manifests in aggressive behaviours of an abusive/oppressive nature; the phenomenon is particularly widespread among younger groups.
