Motherhood and work: a legal framework
Women are the group most affected by the difficulties in balancing work and family life. In Italy, there is still a long way to go to achieve full equality of treatment with men under the same conditions and, despite the formal recognition of equal rights and opportunities for women and men, in practice there are still big differences in access to employment, career progression and salary.
