To try to understand the issue of child prostitution and promote debate, the new Quaderno of the National Documentation and Analysis Centre for Childhood and Adolescence presents a survey on this little visible, but unfortunately growing phenomenon. The objective is to gain a better understanding of this “hidden”phenomenon and to analyse which psychological, social and judicial measures are taken to save sexually exploited children and adolescents.
The research is made up of a social study, which focuses on the measures taken to help these minors, and of a legal survey, which was carried out in courts to see how child prostitution cases are discussed and managed.
The second part of the volume contains a wide collection of articles written by jurists, social workers and experts, as well as an overview of the associations and organizations which collaborated in the research.
