The Ministry of Education and Merit (MiM) and the Dante Alighieri Society have signed a three-year Protocol of Understanding to promote initiatives aimed at disseminating and expanding knowledge of the Italian language and culture in schools of all levels, with the aim of improving teaching activities and raising the level of students' learning, particularly in linguistic and cultural skills.

The agreement provides for the promotion of greater focus on the study of the Italian language and culture, including through twinning between schools in Italy and around the world. The MiM undertakes, among other things, to organise with the Dante Alighieri Society calls for competitions on the Italian language, literature and culture, emphasising in particular the work of Dante Alighieri. The Society will carry out dissemination initiatives, training activities for teachers, professional exchanges and international twinning.
