The Single and Universal Allowance for Dependent Children is an economic benefit for families, paid by INPS on the basis of the Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator (ISEE) of the household, which simplifies and replaces many of the current benefits for dependent children. In order to receive the allowance, families can apply to the INPS or social welfare institutions.
On the Department for Family Policies (Dipofam) website, on the dedicated page, the third campaign ad launched last January to communicate the introduction of the new measure and promote its wider circulation. The video announces that for applications submitted by 30 June, the monthly payments for March, April and May will also be paid, while for applications submitted from July onwards, the financial benefit will be paid from the month of the application.
The benefit, provided for by Law No. 46 of 1 April 2021, established by Legislative Decree No. 230 of 21 December 2021, and which entered into force on 1 January 2022, is available to every household, regardless of their economic situation, from the seventh month of pregnancy and for each dependent child up to the age of 21. All the relevant information can be found on the dedicated website, www.auu.gov.it.
On the Department for Family Policies website, you can also consult the section on the allowance, which explains what it is, how it works and how to receive it, as well as offering other information.
