The Ministry of Education and Merit (MiM) and the Bank of Italy have signed a three-year Protocol of Understanding to promote financial education in schools and strengthen the students' skills, their educational orientation and future integration into the job market.
The agreement establishes a collaboration to strengthen the economic and financial literacy of younger generations, encouraging the responsible use of resources, informed participation in economic and civic life, and awareness of the rights and responsibilities linked to financial wellbeing, including in digital environments. Financial education and economic and social citizenship initiatives will be offered to schools at all levels in order to enhance understanding of economic dynamics and develop the transversal skills demanded by today’s job market.
Through this Protocol, the parties also commit to promoting and organising joint initiatives for awareness-raising and training in financial, insurance, and social security education, targeting students, teachers, and school communities, while building on successful initiatives already underway nationwide.
