To mark the National Day against Paedophilia and Child Pornography on 5 May, introduced by Italian law 41/2009 to focus attention on an often-hidden phenomenon affecting many children and young people, with very serious consequences on their health and future.
The event Nobody wants to talk about it marks Telefono Azzurro Day, together with the Department for Family Policies.
The network to protect and connect, taking place on 5 May in Rome, in the Multipurpose Hall of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (Largo Chigi 19). The Department of Family Policy uses a range of measures to deal with the prevention and fight against violence against children, and the various forms of sexual abuse they suffer. These include the drafting of the Report that the President of the Council of Ministers submits to Parliament annually (in accordance with Article 17 of Italian Law 269/1998), which contains information on the actions carried out by all public administrations relating to the prevention, assistance and protection of children from sexual exploitation and abuse.
The Department also chairs the Observatory for the Fight against Paedophilia and Child Pornography, established under the Presidency of the Council of Ministers in 2006 with the main task of collecting and monitoring data and information on the activities carried out by all public administrations in the prevention and suppression of the phenomenon of sexual abuse and exploitation of children and young people.
