The Italian day for the rights of children and adolescents was established by law no. 451/1997, art. 6. The Government, in agreement with the Parliamentary Commission for Children, determines the procedures for carrying out the day, to be celebrated on November 20 of each year, on the anniversary of the signing of the New York Convention, approved by the General Assembly of United Nations in 1989, ratified by the Italian government in 1991.
